Twin Suns Supply: The Darkened Seas

Welcome to the jungle.
Allow me to introduce you to the planet Murray. Originally, this frontier planet was an ice ball floating near the outer edge of its star's habitable zone. That is, until terraforming pioneers settled here and started pumping gases into the atmosphere to warm the place up. This did achieve the goal of melting the ice, but the process released more gases from underneath the sheets, causing a runaway reaction that turned this place from a sunny ocean getaway into a dark, dangerous planet constantly battered by a worldwide maelstrom.

Humans, as stubborn as they are, remained here for some time, unchecked by galactic governments. Drilling and fishing settlements came and went on its surface, and rumors circulated of more mysterious things happening beneath the waves. Nobody was quite sure what was going on, but more stories kept popping up about how one fisherman saw lights deep in the water, or a weather satellite picking up strange energy waves from the middle of the sea. People speculated, myths propagated, people claimed they found record proving it was a sunken space ship, or a vault full of gold, or the answer to life itself. Nothing concrete, of course, but it was enough to inspire people to go searching for these unclaimed treasures.

Riggers.

People looking for those treasures were called Riggers, because the unforgiving sea required special equipment to explore, and their impatient hands jerry rigged submersibles to descend into the waves. Very few came back, and none with treasure. Only more stories. That's how it was. Riggers had big dreams and empty hands, that is until you and your team of Riggers somehow came across a mysterious datachit during one of your outings. It was just lying there in an old box you found in a rusty shed out by the coast. It didn't seem very promising at first, but upon plugging it into your own console, you found that it carried a ton of encrypted data and a set of coordinates leading to some spot in the middle of the ocean. You're not sure what it could mean, but you've spent enough time on this planet to know people would kill for this kind of opportunity.

It looks like you guys had your first clue.

But before we all go off gallivanting into adventure, I've got a few questions for you. Just a formality, I promise.

What's your name?
What do you look like, exactly?
If you came across a difficult situation, would your first instinct be to try and TAKE IT HEAD ON or THINK YOUR WAY AROUND IT?

If you choose TAKE IT HEAD ON, answer the next couple questions. If you didn't, skip on ahead.

What kind of high-caliber ass-kicking machinery do you have on you?
What would you say are the two things you're the best at? And don't say kicking ass again.

You chose THINK YOUR WAY AROUND IT? Alright then,

What kind of civilian grade self-defense items do you have right now?
What would you say are the four skills you're the most proficient with?

(click to show/hide)

What other stuff do you have on you?
Any other special traits or quirks I should be worried about?

Well, that's all of them I've got written down, but there's one more thing I gotta know-

Who were you before you became a Rigger?
And how did you meet the rest of your team, anyway?

Huh. Not exactly what I expected, but an answer's an answer.

Post your character's answers here in this thread and once we've got enough people, we'll get this thing underway!

Pretty neato.
I like the Darkened Seas one, seems like Borderlands IN THE OCEAN.

Yeah, that's part of the plan. Think of Borderlands meets Jules Verne with a little bit of something extra mixed in. And in a boat/underwater.

Alright, if there's no more discussion to be had here, I'm gonna get to work on the plot structure for Twin Suns Supply: The Darkened Seas and all that good stuff. You guys can expect something concrete tomorrow.

What's your name?
Reagan Meers

What do you look like, exactly?
Like a person of average size, with a standard number of body parts. Balding, a little older, and in healthy enough shape.

Not much:
A little hand held computer that may or may not cause tumors via EM radiation.
A kinda sharp space-pen, and a notepad capable of dispensing painful papercuts.
A .44 Mag revolver, with a 5 inch barrel. It's ancient, but you can faintly make out the words "Gamemaster" on the weathered frame. Top quality stuff a couple hundred years ago.
A mono-molecular wire injector disguised as a space pen. Touch the tip to something under tension, and "watch" as a couple dozen feet of wire creates a deadly but difficult to see cavity inside your target.

((If body armour is a common thing, he presumably has something simple that fits under a shirt, as well.))

What would you say are the four skills you're the most proficient with?

General investigation - Knowing where to look or who to ask for answers was kind of an occupational hazard at one point.

Tech use - As above, really. The whole "oldschool Luddite reporter" stereotype is a thing of the distant past, and part of the job these days is knowing how to use a wide variety of technology.

Negotiation - You get the idea. More so the type of negotiation that involves getting what you want as an individual than the type that resolves hostage situations, though some of the skill does transfer.

Languages - Current or dead, they've always been a thing of personal interest for Reagan, and are sometimes a handy skill to have.

What other stuff do you have on you?

Besides the above mentioned stuff, there's the usual things like clothes, a communications device, etc. He's also held on to his reporter's bag, which contains the essentials such as:

- Quite a few more pens, pencils, and notepads.
- A small pair of binoculars
- A couple empty flash drive equivalents.
- Assorted cables to connect his little computer to a variety of equipment.
- A high powered recording device capable of picking up fainter sounds and of better clarity than the ones built into his other devices.
- A combination dictionary/thesaurus.
- The 27th Edition of the Pocket Ref. If you've ever seen one of the antique 2014 era 4th edition books, and the huge amount of information on literally everything in there, then you can imagine how much stuff is crammed into the newest edition.
- A pocket legal reference, which covers the laws of most major/important places.
- A small toolkit with simple wire cutters, screw drivers, and a flashlight.
- A bottle of heavy duty painkillers.
- A bottle of antacids.
- Light cut-resistant gloves.
- Cigarettes and a lighter.
- One of those mylar/foil super insulating space blankets.

The bag is pretty heavy with all that stuff in it, so he usually leaves it nearby rather than physically having it on him at all times.

Any other special traits or quirks I should be worried about?

You can do a surprising amount of things with antacids. Pocket refs have at least a little bit of info on literally everything. Besides that, he's traveled lots and seen a little bit of everything, and knows a lot of people in a lot of useful places. He's got a little combat experience from watching and learning as an embedded reporter, but hasn't ever fired a shot in anger.

Well, that's all of them I've got written down, but there's one more thing I gotta know-

Who were you before you became a Rigger?

I was a reporter for a fairly prestigious media company for most of my life. Traveled around, saw the sights, did the job. Reporting is good work, but after putting in as many years as I have, it gets kinda stale, you know? Eventually, the long hours, the politics, and the low pay kind of gets to a guy, starts to outweigh the fun stuff.

And how did you meet the rest of your team, anyway?

A couple of years ago I did a story on riggers on this very planet. It was just a little one-column fluff piece I put together while investigating some stuff for another assignment, but something about the work really just jumped at me. You get to investigate, explore, and uncover, just like journalism, but you can actually make a few bucks and 'be your own boss' a bit, you know? I'm not getting younger, and I figured I didn't have a lot of good years left in me to make a change if I wanted one. So, I quit, signed on to a crew, and here I am.

I picked this particular crew because I heard from an old buddy that they might be on to something - I didn't make a drastic career change just to float around on a boat waiting for some treasure to fall out of the sky, or making dives down to the mud just in case there was some small change floating around. So these guys having a place to start was a bit of a big factor for me.

Besides that, they seemed keen for anyone remotely qualified, and seemed to think my resume was good enough for the work.

Huh. Not exactly what I expected, but an answer's an answer.

Post your character's answers here in this thread and once we've got enough people, we'll get this thing underway!

But before we all go off gallivanting into adventure, I've got a few questions for you. Just a formality, I promise.

What's your name?
Jason Kavanar

What do you look like, exactly?
Ruggedly handsome 25 year old with the best beard you've ever seen, blue eyes you could love, and the best head of blonde hair this side of the frontier.   Also I'm like 6'1, not that you need that, right?

If you came across a difficult situation, would your first instinct be to try and TAKE IT HEAD ON or THINK YOUR WAY AROUND IT?

If you choose TAKE IT HEAD ON, answer the next couple questions. If you didn't, skip on ahead.
Alrighty.

What kind of high-caliber ass-kicking machinery do you have on you?
805 Bren A2 AR, and a good old .50 cal ML-07 Sniper.   Can't beat the classics.

What would you say are the two things you're the best at? And don't say kicking ass again.
Kicking ass and/or taking names
I'm good at noticing the small details, and I apparently know my way around a couple of languages

You chose THINK YOUR WAY AROUND IT? Alright then,

What kind of civilian grade self-defense items do you have right now?

What would you say are the four skills you're the most proficient with?

What other stuff do you have on you?
Other than my clothes?  I got a lighter, some change, a couple days worth of canned shit, and a multitool.   Ain't the type to carry a lot.

Any other special traits or quirks I should be worried about?
my badass aura has been known to melt shuttles Nah, I'm pretty much the average grunt.

Well, that's all of them I've got written down, but there's one more thing I gotta know-

Who were you before you became a Rigger?
The backstory check?   Worked as a merc for a couple of companies, didn't do nothing too major.   Heard about some 'treasure' over here and decided, fuck it, might as well

And how did you meet the rest of your team, anyway?
These guys were the first group that seemed like they had an idea of what they were doing.   More of an idea than I had, anyway.

But before we all go off gallivanting into adventure, I've got a few questions for you. Just a formality, I promise.

What's your name?
Jeremiah Alden.

What do you look like, exactly?
I'm a young male as you can see, I'm roughly 24 and my hair is snow white and my eyes are yellowish. I'm not the most heavily built but I can carry my gear.

If you came across a difficult situation, would your first instinct be to try and TAKE IT HEAD ON or THINK YOUR WAY AROUND IT?
Take it head on.

What kind of high-caliber ass-kicking machinery do you have on you?
A G36C, and my trusty Mateba Unica 6

What would you say are the two things you're the best at? And don't say kicking ass again.
I prefer staying moving when I can, and I've been told I have a good memory.

What other stuff do you have on you?
My clothes which consist mainly of my field uniform, a backpack, a flashlight belt, and a 'standard issue' rig vest to hold my mags. I keep some rations, a set of military grade binoculars, painkillers, some spare batteries, and some clean water in my backpack at all times.

Any other special traits or quirks I should be worried about?
Nothing really to note.

Well, that's all of them I've got written down, but there's one more thing I gotta know-

Who were you before you became a Rigger?
I was a mercenary, not a very luxurious job but it paid well, I'm out of that business now.

And how did you meet the rest of your team, anyway?
Well I haven't known them for long, hardly know any of the people here, but I need a more steady job and I figured I'd help guard the ship.

[Thought I'd adjust this a little, so hears a basic image of his stuffs]

It's time for the return of one of the survivors from the first TSS:

Name:Holland Sheldrake
Appearance: Holland is middle-aged, around 40 at this point. His left ear appears to have been burned off and his torso is dotted with various old burn and puncture scars. His hair is now unkept and sports a pretty thick beard.
Class: FIGHTER
Equipment: A patched full body mining rig with an attached helmet. Thankfully the onboard oxygen supply still works. (1 hour of oxygen)
Skills: Melee and demolitions
Inventory: Six makeshift demolition charges, an old hydraulic hammer, a battered energy rifle, an old holographic ID card of a woman called Vae.
Traits/Quirks: Hardened, paranoid, and has constant night terrors about "mutants". Not really one to open up about such things.
Background: Holland was a miner from Livma-6, the Dead Planet. Due to his job as a miner he was able to avoid the cities when the mutant illness wiped out most of the planet. There he survived for three years until a ship crash landed near him and he rescued the passenger. It was then a team from TSS came for the passenger and aimed to take his life in the process. He managed to beat most of the TSS Death squad with the help of other survivors and managed to escape off the planet after taking their ship. Afterwards he escaped TSS custody and came to Murray to escape the prying eyes of the TSS.
Reason for being part of the crew: Demolitions are tricky business. Plus the suit helps with the diving part.

All these sheets are looking pretty snazzy. While Dec gets his ready I'm going to make preparations for the story. Since we have a majority of fighters I'll add a lot of non-combat checks to make your lives harder I'll create encounters to accommodate. This'll start either the coming Sunday or the Monday after that if we don't have any more newcomers.

(Does this still count as a newcomer? Sorry if I'm a little late!)
What's your name?
     Jamie O'Connor

What do you look like, exactly?
I'm 23 years old. I am lean and tone, definitely more of a runner's body than a fighter's. I have a scrappy look, my medium brown hair messy and there seems to be a perpetual amount of grime on my face (dirt, oil, blood, etc.)

If you came across a difficult situation, would your first instinct be to try and TAKE IT HEAD ON or THINK YOUR WAY AROUND IT?

What kind of civilian grade self-defense items do you have right now?
A good ol' Colt Python, stylish and effective.
A butterfly knife, flashy and lethal.
A genuine leather jacket with thin armor padding

What would you say are the four skills you're the most proficient with?
Mechanic's son: Well mechanic is a nice way to put it, my father owned a sort of chop shop for space ships, but I was still taught to very proficient at turning bolts!
Little MacGyver: Don't have something that you need? Not a problem, jerry rigging is an art Jamie O'Conner knows well, a little duct tape goes a long way.
Petty thief: Life was tough growing up, I got by the way my family did best, crime. I know how to stick to the shadows, pickpocket, lock pick, the general tricks of the trade.
Silver Tongue: Some may call it lying but I like to just consider myself a talented actor.

What other stuff do you have on you?
     General mechanic tools
Lock picks for mechanical and electronic locks
     An engraved lighter
     A flask of whiskey

Any other special traits or quirks I should be worried about?
(Okay, I promise I didn't steal your idea! I came up with the alcoholic mechanic before I fully read your post, I swear!)
"We Irish have a deep sadness" I very much enjoy the Devil's nectar. Some may say it's a vice but what do they know!?

Who were you before you became a Rigger?
Working in the family business! Steal, sell, repeat, you get the idea.
And how did you meet the rest of your team, anyway?
There came a point where I wanted to try a life different than the one I had, so one day I just left. Not much to it, I was young and I traveled around a lot, most of the time as a stowaway and I eventually ended up here. These guys seemed more interesting than anything I had done in a while so I decided to join.

What's your name?
Blanchard Glover. (Preferably Glover!)

What do you look like, exactly?
'Bout 28 years old. Tall, but rangy, not bulky. Short black hair respectably combed, and an unassuming handsome-guy-at-the-office face with a hint of darkness beneath it.

-A bulky, low-quality single-action revolver. It's not homemade bad, but it's no manufactured piece, either. More like garage-arms-factory-made. It's got seven shots, and fires heavy, low-velocity bullets.

-A short, lever-action shotgun of somewhat better quality, holding six shells and normally being loaded with copper buckshot.

-A long, slim, elegant switchblade. It's got ivory grips and a gold push-button.

What would you say are the four skills you're the most proficient with?
1. Diplomacy: Flattery, bribery, negotiation, bartering, and good 'ol persuasion. Speech comes with the career.
2. General Medicine: Sure, he needs the tools and the means to make a difference, but he knows his way around some splicing gear.
3. Psychology: In a way, that is. Think a judge of intent. "Does that guy have something to hide? Where do his eyes keep moving? Did she just lie to me? If I were them, where would I put that cash?"
4. Reflexes: He's a slippery one, he is. Quick draw shots, dodging, etc., all come pretty naturally.

What other stuff do you have on you?
-Stylish clothes; a slim-fitting maroon leather jacket, with internal floral-print silk, average denim jeans, a long-sleeved button-up houndstooth shirt, and some laced brown leather shoes.
-A worn book bound with soft green goat leather. It's filled with hand-scrawled notes on every belief and deity Glover's heard of.
-A heavy leather trunk, for travel, with multiple postcards of nicer planets glued onto its surface here and there. It's got a few changes of modest clothes, a little gambling kit in a smaller leather case, coffee powder and tea bags, a sack of old-fashioned candy of countless varieties, candles and incense, a cigarette rolling kit, drinkware, and some assorted bottles of liquor.
-Another leather suitcase, a little higher-quality. It's actually Glover's personal medkit, or at least something close to being that. From modern medicine like healing powders, stims, and flesh-splicers, to old-fashioned bandages, rubbing alcohol, and such, all the way to laudanum, thyme oil, obscure folk remedies, herbal medicines, and other questionable cures, Glover's got it all, and he sort of knows how to use it.

Any other special traits or quirks I should be worried about?
He's a sleazy, greedy fucker with a heart of gold. Glover smokes, drinks, and pops pills here and there, but he's not really heavily addicted to anything but those damn candies he carries around. He also mixes a mean cocktail.

Well, that's all of them I've got written down, but there's one more thing I gotta know-

Who were you before you became a Rigger?
A unique personality, that's what. Glover's a registered official of Omnidivus, a religious organization devoted to every deity and being, ever. Basically, they believe that if multiple conscious, sentient creatures believe it, then it comes into being in one form or another. And of course, most members use this to their advantage, worming their way into the good graces of any culture without ever applying their own knowledge or beliefs.

So, he'd drift from place to place, ship to ship, planet to planet, and get by on donations, gambling, petty theft, and some mild doctoring he picked up along the way. He's a knowledgeable guy when it comes to medicine, now, sorta bringing back the stereotype that the religious official is also a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to first aid and improvised surgery.

And how did you meet the rest of your team, anyway?
"Eh, y'know how it is. Wander here, wander there, hear tell of unimaginable riches over there, who am I to argue against the winds of fate? These boys seemed as reasonable as any, so, here I am, yeah?"

Huh. Not exactly what I expected, but an answer's an answer.

Post your character's answers here in this thread and once we've got enough people, we'll get this thing underway!

And we're off! The IC thread is up and ready for your posts, along with the first few choices you can make. Choose wisely, you'd be surprised at the full range of consequences an action (or lack of action) can have.

On a less ominous note, this will update daily, probably in the middle of the night. I'll answer questions and attend to small things whenever I can, though.

That's my piece said, happy hunting!

(Oh, also, for anyone who might still be considering joining, I'll take new people up until the first or second update. The ball will probably start really rolling then, and it'll be hard to insert characters after that point. (Not necessarily impossible, however...))

Alright, I'd like to preface this post with an apology. I should've seen this coming, and I'm flattered all of you showed so much interest in my game. However, I realize now after staring at my notes for this thing that I simply cannot take on eight players. I probably should've said something at six, but here we are. So, I'm gonna have to go back on what I said about late joiners and cut it off at characters who were submitted before the creation of the IC thread.

I do wish I could've kept this going with all of you, but I simply cannot keep up with eight people all running around in this kind of thing. (Trust me, I've tried.) Joebob and Blitzkrieg, I'm sorry, guys.

Hey, sorry about the lack of update yesterday. It was a busy day for me and by the time I could get around to it, it was about 3 am. Today's update coming soon.

UPDATE: When I said soon, I lied. This update is kinda a doozy.

UPDATE 2: The post is out! The chase is on!

Sorry to say but I think I'm gonna need a couple day break from this, I'll be back by Wednesday or Thursday though. Just haven't been feeling 'my self' lately.

Alright, that's cool. Without giving too much away I can say that nothing absolutely critical is gonna happen in the next couple updates, and I'll try and keep your character out of danger in the meantime. Hope you feel better soon!

DATEUP: There weren't a whole lot of posts since the last update, so I'm gonna give everyone a chance to catch up again. Updates will resume Tuesday night. And I promise you guys I'll have an update this time that isn't just standing around/talking.

BEYOND THE VEIL DOWNDATE: Well that was weird. If you guys are still out there and kicking, I'll be pushing up an update later on tonight.

Sorry about the slow updates, things outside of the forum have been keeping me pretty busy. A new update should be out sometime tomorrow.

Sorry Jamie, we're not taking on any new players at the moment. Though, in maybe a week or so I am planning on starting something new up, so stick around for that.

Today's post was kinda short, but tomorrow there'll be a bigger update earlier than normal and then another big one later that night. Once we get that long awaited change of scenery there'll be more to do. Hang in there everyone!

Just to check, because I know the forums going down sorta through everyone off, who is still committed to this? I know me and cockooclock are posting but what about others?

Side question, should the inventory of our characters be updated on this thread? Just asking because I've just gotten a good number of things and want to know if it mattered or not.

I know that Nocam is still active, and Forrest said he'd post soon so I'll probably go chase him down and get that out of him. I'm personally gonna keep this going as long as I can because I'm excited to share this story with you all.

You can keep the inventories updated yourselves if you want. I've been keeping my own notes about your inventories but I haven't kept track of individual bullets, if that's what you're asking. Stuff like those stun grenades and the radio are more likely to become important later on, and as you can imagine, but ammo isn't a huge concern unless you're doing something crazy with them that would expend a lot of rounds in a short period of time.

Okay, honest to goodness I had last night's update halfway typed out but then I fell asleep. I really should stop updating at 3 am. Update on it's way.

It looks like your group has encountered down time.

Despite the boring title, this is actually a pretty open opportunity to soup up your characters to get ready for the next endeavor. You'll be raiding a partially submerged ship, and can create or modify your gear to suit that kind of encounter.

As for what you guys can make in this time frame, that's gonna be played pretty fast and loose. Your party has a fairly advanced set of tools at their disposal, and while they probably can't build another submarine, modifying or covering a rifle, building a diving suit or even a little robot buddy are not out of the realm of possibility. Your team has a week, so just use your heads and it'll all probably work out just fine.

Of course, you don't have to build things during down time. Your character could practice one of their skills, giving them a bonus to it, or try and learn a new skill, giving a smaller bonus to something new. Or they could laze around on their butts. That's cool too.

Also, if I'm throwing too much at you guys at once, please don't hesitate to ask here in the thread or message me privately about clarifying a character or location or concept. I'm also open to critiques, comments, and birthday parties. I want this to be as painless of an experience as possible, so I'd like to try and dispel any confusion you guys have before we get into this next segment.

I myself may need to take a day or two break from posting again, a break from RPing in general actually.
Title: Re: [OOC] Twin Suns Supply: Darkened Seas

So I'll just say sorry that my post was just vague. I would have more detail into any defenses I had in mind or improvements to the scuba gear but I just don't know what all exactly is available or I guess enough of the specifics on the modern technology.
Title: Re: [OOC] Twin Suns Supply: Darkened Seas
Post by: Hibou on April 06, 2017, 08:56:18 AM
Alright, that's cool Clock. I'll keep this on hold then until Friday evening then, it'll be a good break for me while I get real life stuff in order.

Bos, you're right. I didn't provide a lot of detail, so here's a quick rundown of the technology is like in TSS.

Weapons - The standard in most militaries of the age is laser weapons because of their ability to pierce armor. Think the stuff you see in Star Wars, and that's pretty much what it's like in TSS. (One change is that the lasers move at the speed of light, so they look more like glowing lines than projectiles) Projectile weapons are still in use, mostly among groups that can't afford fancy laser weapons. They're simpler and pack a punch, but have a hard time piercing modern armor. They can be propelled using either old fashioned gunpowder, or magnets. (See railgun and coilgun)

Armor - Military armor is mostly made out of plasteel, a material made of a composite plastic and interwoven steel thread. It's very malleable and very resilient to physical and laser damage. It's also very expensive. Civilian armor is still made of kevlar, the bulletproof synthetic fiber. Other, more rare armors include spaced armor, where two pieces of material are used with a bunch of space between them to break up bullets before they hit the target, and reflective armor which looks like a space blanket but functions to reflect lasers instead of absorbing them.

Other stuff -  It's a sci-fi setting, so anything that seems at home there is probably gonna appear here. Some examples are sights that can see in the dark/through thin walls, guns that shoot tiny rockets instead of bullets, gloves with shock pads running through them, eyepieces that can tell if another person is lying by analyzing their heart rate at a distance, or even a sword that can be as flexible as rubber or strong as steel depending on if the blade is powered.

The general rule of thumb is that it needs to have at least a little rooting in reality, i.e. no explicitly magic spells or anything that far out there, but other than that the sky is the limit and creativity is welcomed.

As for the SCUBA gear in specific, a rebreather is a device that recycles air so you can breath pretty much forever. The gear Samar has just feeds air in from a tank, and will stop working if the tank runs out of air or is ruptured. Modern gear varies on their use of those. It's obviously cheaper to use a tank, especially on short expeditions, but for long periods underwater/in space rebreathers are preferred.

Your character can definitely rig a rebreather up in a couple days or so and still have time to spare, so take that as you will.

I hope that cleared it up a little bit, and I apologize if I'm getting too sciencey. TSS is a hard sci-fi setting, but the last thing I want is for the game to get bogged down/stop being fun by me trying to keep everything scientifically accurate. I try to follow the rule that if it's more fun without the science, then I should ignore the science, but I can lose sight of that sometimes. If you catch me doing something lame, lemme know. This is a game after all, and I want you guys to have fun playing it.

Also Bostltch, Mrnocamera wanted me to let you know that his character wanted to bring the Ophelia to the ship instead of the speeder. I'm not going to force a decision just yet, and I won't say which is a better idea (or if one is even better than the other. The choice could be entirely meaningless. Who knoooows~)
Title: Re: [OOC] Twin Suns Supply: Darkened Seas
Post by: bostltch on April 06, 2017, 11:51:29 PM
Well personally I do like science and all the technical little stuff, it just takes a while to get fully acquainted with it, which, really, is part of the fun! And I see about Mrnocamera, I misinterpreted his post, I wanted to take the sub too but I just sorta went with what I thought he wanted, I'll change my post to fix all this!

I'm sorry everybody, I'd love to continue with my posts today but I just sprained my wrist a few hours ago, it hurts like hell just typing this out so, until it heals I won't be able to update fast if at all.

Edit: It turns out it wasn't sprained, just really heavy bruising, I'm good to go.

That's great to hear, Clock. And I'm glad you're enjoying the content, Bost.

I kinda shoved things along in this update because sitting around only does so much for a group of adventurers. I put you guys in the submarine because it'll provide the most "options". That may or may not be a good thing, I haven't decided yet you'll have to figure that out. All aboard that's going aboard.

EDIT: Also, if none of you have anything else you wanna take care of IC, then I can push out an early update and then have another one at the usual time.

So you know that thing I said about not updating at 3 am? Well, I tried following that rule, but apparently updating at 4 am is an even worse idea. Post coming soon.

EDIT: Sorry about ghosting you guys for a second time this week. I got pretty busy last night and couldn't find the time to update, but now it's here and you guys get to explore the Ghost Ship of Wonder
Title: Re: [OOC] Twin Suns Supply: Darkened Seas
Post by: Hibou on April 15, 2017, 09:52:58 AM
I'm gonna postpone the update until tomorrow and let the posts come in, after that the nautical fun can begin.

As a side note, if you split off from the party then I might PM you certain things that are exclusive to your character, so just be on the lookout for messages coming in that way.

Other than that, hope you guys have a fun weekend and posting will resume as usual tomorrow.

EDIT: This OOC thread has turned into a "Hibou can't keep an update schedule straight" thread. Gonna put an early one out today and then another later tonight to make up for yesterday's absence.

It's cool. Keep posting whenever it's convenient, just remember to look after yourself first. If you need to take some time off that's fine, the thread will still be here when you get back.

As for myself, I swear I had that update typed out last night, but my computer crashed before I could finish it and today was particularly busy day with schoolwork and a trip I needed to take. Speaking of that trip, I'm out of town for the weekend, so updates might get pushed out at unusual times until Monday.

As you probably already know, I took another day to put this one out. Partly it was because I was waiting on Mrnocamera to get back, and partly because in real life I'm entering finals territory at uni so updates might be every other day for the next week or so. We'll see. In any case, we're reaching about the halfway point of this story, (two whole months!) and if you can spare the time I'd like to ask some feedback questions to see how it's coming along.

That's right, it's time for another

Sure. I think I can say with some confidence that those who haven't posted for about a month won't be coming back any time soon. The character sheet stuff and most of the useless fluff background info is on the first page, and I'll fill you in on the rest as we get you up to speed. It might be a little weird inserting a new character right here right now but that actually might be beneficial for what's coming next...

Well that was one heck of a semester. Anyhow, I'm done with school for the next few months which means more updates! More action! More adventure! More convoluted puzzles! Did I mention more updates?

The schedule will stay the same for consistency's sake, one big update around midnight in the Ameri-zone. Conversations and small actions will be updated as soon as I get to them, buuut there should be fewer skip days now that I've got all this free time.

Other than that, just remember that if you guys have any more questions, comments, complaints, rotten tomatoes, this OOC thread and my PM box are always open. Maybe not for the tomatoes but you know what I mean.

I've been sitting on this for a little while and I've decided it's probably time to put this thing on ice. Honestly I think it's just bostlch now and you've earned mad respect from me for sticking around so long but still, one player and a GM does not an RP make. It's past time to put Darkened Seas back on the shelf.

This isn't the end of me or TSS, however. I'll take some time, do some thinking, and I'll be back later with something hopefully more fun and interesting.

And of course, thanks for playing!

I mean, I can't say I'm totally surprised by this but it is still definitely a shame. I was having fun and thought is was pretty interesting if that means anything. I've always made it a point to follow through with things when it involves other people, because it's not just you that's loosing out but you're letting everyone else down as well. I feel like it's that the community just doesn't have enough dedicated, or serious I guess, players ever since most of them left, what was it, a year or two ago?

Either way I'll definitely be on the lookout if this returns!
