Dynasties and available dynasty slots: 0/6
If there are more than 5 sheets by the time I'll start this, I'll simply use the dice to decide which ones gets a slot.
Why do I have a limit? Cause I don't want to be overrun with dynasties. It happened before, and it won't happen again.

I'm gathering up all that I need to give Rise of the Dynasties another go.
I need to start taking into account that not everyone knows/remembers.

But Rise of the Dynasties was an RP where you embarked into a world with fantasy species, but the tech level of WW1. There the player must create a wealthy family that will stand the test of time.
The idea was simple, but I tended to make it even denser with other features such as the ability to adventure independently.
That ultimately made it too complex, and I was forced to ditch it.

I did find the adventurer part of RotD a bit much for what it had originally been. Looking forward to restarting McShale Armaments.

No. This is a world of technology, and noone can be a god either.

I'll leave the godrp'ing to divom.

That's Not what I meant, I mean would the Gods In the Setting be able to actually Preform a Miracle if a PC had a High Enough Faith and needed it Very Badly.

Ancient books said they did, scholars said they didn't. Therefore it's up to debate.

But all in all, does it matter?

For those who are wondering, I know when I'm gonna restart RotD now.

Not this week, or next week. But the week after that.
Got an entire week of holiday, therefore it's perfect.

Before I say anything, I'm not new to the game or the forums, (I just don't really ever feel the need to post things, I just kinda watch what goes on) but I've read most of the original and it looked really fun and an interesting once you worked out some of the kinks. But what I'm asking here, is if I were to want to join this new one, would I be fine? Like I feel a little... underseasoned with people with thousands of posts and I'm sitting here in single digits.
Title: Re: [Lore & Development] Imperial Archives (Remaking RotD)
Post by: HS1342 on February 19, 2015, 10:03:13 AM
Yeah, you'll be fine. I intend to make the new one friendly to beginners, since there is so very few still here that played the first.
Personally, I have no problem with new players as long as they stay reasonable.

I've seen the start of many great roleplayers in my time here, and I wouldn't be suprised if you turn out the same.

And with that update, I'm premptively accepting sheets now so that I can get time to prepare.

READ THE RULES AND SUCH BEFORE ASKING PUTTING UP A SHEET/ASKING QUESTIONS

Oh, and don't be afraid to put in own professions. I'm kinda lacking on that front. Just try to be realistic...

Ok, seems like eveything will come together today.

There are currently 6 applicants, and the limit is at 6.
However, there's still a chance to get a slot. If theres more than 6 sheets, I'll let the dice decide who gets in.

And a note to everyone:
I'm putting the same standardized background on all coat of arms. You just decide what's in the middle. And as a very casual artist, I'm going simple.
So any fancy details?
They ain't happening.

Name: Lysander
Surname: Rek'Naj
Gender: Male
Race: Kitsune
Appearance: Lysander is a somewhat eccentric-looking kitsune. His fur is fluffy and of a sandy beige colour, and he has a large and remarkably fluffy tail. Other kitsunes often make fun of him for his tail, so he commonly tucks it away in his clothes. His face is usually quite happy, with a large scar leading down from his mouth. His hair is a deeper brown, medium cut and slightly spiky, with two dyed strips of cyan and purple trailing down. He certainly looks... different, compared to your average kitsune.
<<Dynasty>>
Color-code: Purple/Cyan/Beige
Coat of arms: A rich, purple flag with a decal of a cyan pawprint on it. The colours are quite unique and somewhat futuristic compared to other standard flags.

Jeez guys, originality.

But in all seriousness I hope everyone has fun!
Also I think I'm probably pretty terrible at this.

Yes, there are indeed a bunch of gun/armorsmiths.

And as in real life, this is going to make the market heavily competetive, and they're all gonna lose money from eachother...

Yes, there are indeed a bunch of gun/armorsmiths.

And as in real life, this is going to make the market heavily competetive, and they're all gonna lose money from eachother...

But doesn't it make sense in the context of the theme of the RP, a bunch of people innovating and creating something for cash. It'd make sense that a lot of budding industries (war or not) would be in abundance.

Post by: HS1342 on February 23, 2015, 09:06:09 PM
Aspire whatever you'd like Vulnus.

And the main theme in RotD isn't inventing. It's about becoming the one, and best dynasty there is.
Inovation is optional.

Finally got some time to write something.

Now thanks to poor timing and just my simple stupidity, I took the schedule of this RP, and plowed it into the nearest tree.
I failed to deliver during the time I should have.

But it doesn't mean that the RP is dead, or that all the things I've written down is lost.
On the contrary, I'll be back tomorrow.

But now I have a question to you all. Just throwing this out there:
Is the turn-based (dynasty) systm actually fun?

If it isn't, I could reestablish the adventure system, allowing players to simply do what they please in the massive world I've created. Finding the secrets themselves, instead of relying on hired help.

But if you're ok with the dynasty system, I guess I'll ypdate tomorrow.

I could see how what we have now could get rather dull pretty soon or we just run out of things to do (unless you  really really expand the tech trees or whatever). I don't think it would be a bad idea to sprinkle in some adventure now and then just to spice things up if it starts getting to slow. Maybe, I don't know. I might be totally wrong here but that's my opinion.

Damn it all to the underworld, I'll have to put RotD on ice until further notice.

This is purely the fault of the GM (me). It has nothing to do with the current events of the forum, or the inhabitants of it.
