Use a lockpick on yourself and you get the message, "you pick your nose!"

I remember Quest for Glory or was it Space Quest.

Using a lockpick on your toon gave the response "You adeptly insert the the lock pick into your left nostril and...unlock your brain. You have died, thank you for playing. Try again." or something like that.

Sierra games on DOS were packed with humor. =)

i
Quest for Glory I ; You were able to pick your nose in order to train your lockpicking skill. I seem to remember that you were able to do it at least once without the danger of death looming above you though. The Message you depicted above would be the death message after those save attempts.

Pthalocy's ". . . . ." connection is clever though I doubt it was intentional. Still, it's a good find.

When I first saw this thread, I thought the game is rife with such hidden gems, but I'll be damned if I can think of anything besides the outright jokes. Here's the best I've come up with:
  • Maybe one of the more subtle smart-asseries is the book title "Self-esteem for Dummies"
  • Also, "Pitching a Tent" sounds like a perfectly reasonable name for a survival training book except that it's a common sexual innuendo.

as for quest for glory, I think it came down to a minimum dex score to do it safely. "you carefully insert the lockpick into your left nostril.... success! Your nose is now open." was always a favourite of mine.

So, this happened...
You activate you Finger-Mounted Laser.
Headshot!
You hit the zombie scientist for 25 damage.
Your skill with handguns has increased to 5!

Oh. Probably not an intentional smart-assery in-game, but cool find.

It also brings to mind the image of your character pantomiming a gun with his hands like children often do. Except an actual laser shoots out.

No spidermen or doctors of doom in this game, though.

EDIT:

The Official Canon states that by around 72 hours after the Cataclysm, there was 99% zombification or death.

We (i.e. the players and survivors) are the 1%.

This happened quite a while ago so I do no remember it exactly.

Basically, if you are a goofy player like me and disrespect the game creators by playing around with the debug menu too much then you spawn in a pickaxe and try to use it you get something like:

"Hey, you can´t just spawn items and except them to work. Now go and play the game."

I must say, it made me feel quite guilty.

That's some high quality dialogue right there.
“No! I must kill the demons” she shouted
The radio said “No, Rivet. You are the demons”
And then Rivet was a zombie.

So if the cataclysm survivors are the 1%, what does it mean if you're an ultra-rich billionaire? Are you the 1% of the 1%?
