Jupiter Hell, successor to Doom the Roguelike
« on: November 21, 2016, 04:27:05 AM »
Some of you may have played DoomRL, a roguelike I started developing in 2002 based on Doom. Well now I’m working on a successor in development called Jupiter Hell, with 3D graphics and an original metal soundtrack, but still remaining a turn-based, traditional roguelike. It's on Kickstarter now, about half funded so far:

Jupiter Hell Kickstarter

I’m hoping with this game to introduce a lot more people to the traditional, turn-based roguelike formula, and with that bring in a whole host of new players for all our games. Roguelites like Spelunky and FTL have had some success here, but we can go much further by presenting this classic gameplay with modern graphics and UI. Plus the fast and furious gameplay inherited from DoomRL is perfect for a wider audience.

Any help supporting us or spreading the world is hugely appreciated! If you have any questions just post below.

It's such an honor, good sir! DoomRL is legendary. Thanks a lot for making it, really. Sadly i can't support anything as of yet, but if i can say one thing, is that you are a great developer, and everyone that reads this, please consider donating. If it's at least half like DoomRL was, this game will be fantastic.

Thank you! We want it to be twice that game in all regards, that's why we need your help, at least with spreading the word :)

If anyone is considering backing, let me convince you by answering questions!

Man I loved Doom aND DoomRL! I wish I could fund you, but I myself need funds right now. I'll spread the word among my friends in the RL genre.
Ironically there are more pimps in garages than wrenches.

To anyone still on the edge, here's a message from Mark Meer, a.k.a. Commander Shepard from Mass Effect:

For anyone wanting more meat, there's Roguelike Radio on Jupiter Hell

...and the IRDC 2016 conference video (extremely dark video not our fault :/)
