Watch Dogs 2
« on: January 03, 2017, 02:16:04 AM »
Awesome game, it seems. Anyone got it? I'm thinking about getting it. It doesn't seem to have as large a map as GTA V, nor have I seen a YouTuber fly planes and such in it. The hacking seems barebones, but fun. Thoughts?

Edit: Unfortunate Titular Typo (UTT, coined)

It looks quite fun, a stop of all the weird and gloomy stories that plague everything this days. It's hackers basically. If i could get it, i'd have it right now! A game of nerds for nerds.

Weird and gloomy' s awesome, sometimes. Especially in the case of Resident Evil VII. That's a title I'm sure I'll get.

Also, I can't stop laughing at my typo.

I watched a friend play it on his PS4 (peasant) and it looks like GTA, except you can Hollywood-hack everything in sight. He seems to spend most of his time wandering around and causing trouble for the generic NPC populace by way of his 'hacking' powers, so I guess it's not much different from GTA in that regard too?

Honestly, it looks like it would be fun for about ten minutes, but that's just my opinion.
“No! I must kill the demons” she shouted
The radio said “No, Rivet. You are the demons”
And then Rivet was a zombie.

That's what I thought too, but I'm looking into the story-meat of the game. If it's got good quests (been playing too many RLs I've forgotten the word for them) and stuff, then I'd probably get it.

EDIT: Okay...just spoiled a good bit of the story for myself without meaning to. But it seems like the story is delivered the same way as most other games these days - storyline and non-storyline missions. Screw it. I'm getting the game. Lots of missions and stuff to get into in between missions (having a buddy help me have entire crowds of NPC's be arrested by cops then calling hitman on every cop = war then blowing everyone up with c4).
Also, why is it cheaper at Walmart than at Gamestop?

Yeah, I made the mistake of buying the first Watch Dogs when it came out. It was mediocrity incarnate. No idea why they thought a sequel was a good idea after all the disappointment everyone expressed about the first one.

Oh, the first one sucked, that's right. It was depressing and annoying as hell. This one, though? I like it. I have been seeing videos and its way more goofy which i love! Not trying to change your mind, just how I see it.

Although it still has problems (like Markus getting the ability to have random people arrested while Dedsec hate one guy SWATting people using their name), Watch Dogs 2 is a lot better than Watch_Dogs.

Also you can have actual fun in it, so there's that I guess.
Who says that you need to be good at games, anyway?

I've decided to get it, for what it's worth, seeing as there's some of you guys still posting. I looked and there's a decent amount of storyline/non-storyline missions. Also lotsa opportunities for fun online, although I won't get to use those. I live in a deadzone where two bars on 3G is the norm.

I gave it a whirl a few days ago, I can't say it's any better than the first one.
The gameplay is more or less the same, bit of a different story-line but I couldn't be bothered playing for more than an hour or two.
