Well I highly doubt it's too late, I think it's still the first scene

Here's a char sheet if the GM and the others decide it's cool.

(click to show/hide)

Name:  Sal Paradise
Gender: Male
Age: Looks like a really rough 40, but is actually quite a bit older
History:

Served in some military when he was younger. Worked at a library for a while.

But for the most part, Sal spent most of his life before the end of the world just wandering around. As of such, the whole apocalypse thing didn't really present much of an existential  crisis to him. I mean, half time he didn’t even know where he was to begin with – Russia? The mid-west? Didn’t really matter, and neither did having far fewer people around.

So after all that stuff happened, he just kept wandering around, it being the type of occupation that really doesn’t depend much on what’s happening with everyone else. If anything, he found it was actually quite a bit easier to get by, since people didn’t seem to be able to whine if you borrowed their stuff, what with the whole “just about everyone is dead” thing.

He knows a little bit about everything. Or at least thinks he does.

Clothing: Yes.
Inventory:

- Backpack (ratty, smells kinda bad)
- First aid kit (filled with toilet paper. He just likes the box)
- 1 liter bottle full of peroxide (in case he gets a booboo)
- Box of matches (strike anywhere, 35 left)
- Little steel pot (but not a little teapot)
- Bullet mold, lyman, .459, 405 grain (single cavity)
- 1 litre bottle of paint thinner (he thought it was booze)
- Assorted seed packages (he always wanted a farm)
- 1 litre bottle of wood stain remover (lots of things SEEM like booze at first, ya know?)
- Sleeping bag (doesn’t smell great either)
- package of anti-acids (which were rather important after he discovered he doesn’t possess any actual booze)
- Box of razors (just in case. YA KNOW?)
- A can of beans (gee, a can opener would be handy)
- Several little metal strips (just wee little ones about two inches long)
- A utility knife (pliers, snips, a little knife, a ruler, and all the usual stuff. The can opener is missing)
- A towel (DO YOU KNOW WHERE YER TOWEL IS?)
- A small handpress (to pull apart and put together dem bullets)

Weapons:

1 Winchester 1886, .45-70, 4 round capacity, loaded (but in FANCY STAINLESS! with a SHORT BARREL! and TAKEDOWN FEATURES!)
(click to show/hide)

16 spare rounds, .45-70
20 empty brass, .45-70

1 TT-33 Tokarev, 7.62x25, 8 round capacity, loaded (but BLINGY!, with CERAKOTE! and LASER ENGRAVING! There sure are a lot of russians running around after all)

I have no problems with it, a bit confusing with the descriptions, but okay.

I can attempt to clarify whatever needs it, but mostly it's just how Sal describes his crap.

What are your rules for or against mutants? Specifically, can I be a giant bird creature?

I'm gonna read the main thread in a moment, I was told it was cata based and gave the other characters a skim, but I didn't see any mutants or rules for or against mutants, so I figured I'd ask. If not, I have another idea that might allow it and work well in a thematically interesting way.

[edit] I have been told that it isn't explicitly cata based, but I will leave my question as it stands.

This world has mutants, but they're adapted to the environment. So I wouldn't have said birds would be a great choice, outside of maybe an owl?

I'll also say, I'd prefer to keep the number of mutants down, as they're very rare, so for the sake of keeping the plot consistent, the group will only have one mutant at a time.

As for Jamie, looks good, bud! Welcome to the RP

"Icytone P" is slightly less potent than TNT, gram for gram, but we've got about 2 dozen grenades worth which should turn anything we stick it in into shrapnel. IRL, it takes about a day to actually prepare, and should be done at around 5 C rather than - apocalypse C or whatever it is here, but I'm going to conveniently ignore that if that's ok and doubt anyone else is as anal for realism as I am anyway.

Question for the GM - IIRC, the library roof access is locked. What type of lock is up there? Standard door, padlock, etc?
Sometimes I think I'd have an easier time surviving Cataclysm IRL than in game.

I think the roof is unlocked as once someone walked up there no problem.

Seeing as I decided it was locked considering everyone was leaving and Zoe would've had no reason to stay with the group otherwise, I'd say it's a padlock.
Who says that you need to be good at games, anyway?

I'd say it's just a simple padlock. Hit it with one of those breaching shotties, or bash it off with ease.

For the sake of ease, just have it be frozen and brittle. We don't need any more problems than you guys are about to have on your hands with this bandit group >:)
