« on: September 06, 2014, 12:09:01 AM »
   <<MShock's>>
This tileset is based on Coleen'Tileset (by Coleen, Waldo, Tsu, Sir Hoder), some of Blockhead's Tileset, and the rest is my work.

    Made using Tileset Studio.

It is now available in the latest experimental builds.

This topic is for your feedback and changelog with illustrations (TODO).

i abandoned my tileset(http://smf.cataclysmdda.com/index.php?topic=4859.0) and leave it to coleen, so i have no right to say something about these things, but i'm uneasy to see this.

anyway i'll not forbid to use part of my works, but i think you need to get permission from coleen and credit 'sir hoder'&'tsu'

it seems like she still work on and didn't give up.

If Coleen wishes to object, all she has to do is show up and do so.  Though everything you PR for DDA is CC-BY-SA (so if we leave your name attached, you can't prevent us from using/remixing it, and neither can we prevent you from re-remixing), if someone wants their tileset to stay "theirs" and not be updated, I've no problem with removing it from the game.

I've been checking the old threads, though, and I have no idea why Tsu and Hoder's credits would be at all relevant to this tileset, though.  Hoder's released xyr work (not that I know of any of it being used here), and I'm not seeing any link to Tsu.  If there is one, please identify it.

their works still remain in this tileset

if so, no need to remove mshock's work from game, but request to delete my works from mshock's tileset gradually by him

My wife has been adding in icons to the set that are missing. Afterward, she plans to go over ones that look like they were imported from a lower res tileset.

No idea if she will release it. Would need permission from Waldo first.

Eventually, she plans to replace all of the icons, even the Waldo ones. If Waldo doesn't allow permission, then her project will have to wait until those tiles are replaced.
coleen will do that too. i want remove my works from game, so please gradually replace them.

You need to read and understand the CC-BY-SA license that you released your work under by contributing it to the project.  It is irrevocable, meaning you have no right to demand the removal of your work from the project.

If you think about it, this is the only way a collaborative work like this can function, otherwise anyone who has contributed a significant amount of code or art to the project can hold the entire project hostage or destroy it by demanding that their work be removed.

i understand. this is first time i uploaded my works to foreign community, so i didn't know about license or something else, and learn a good lesson.

..... come on waldo. There is no good reason to want it taken out a lot of people including myself really enjoy this tileset. You should be glad that people are using some of your art it's coming together quite nicely. But to each their own.

You need to understand that I'm not trying to credit someone's work, I just try to update everything to  the latest build and replace old low res ones. I'm not an artist, so if someone professional will take over, I'll be glad, glad if some of my work is good enough. But noone has time, I guess?

@mshock can you add in the ascii fallback some of the other tilesets have?

Adding the ascii fallback will be great, as i also think that will enable the animations

Okey, so I finished ascii fallback, but, first, I haven't got a reply from author yet, and second, ascii tiles (and retrodays) always have black background, and Coleens has different ones.

It seems like the ASCII fallback stuff is hard-coded to make pure black (0,0,0) transparent. (So at the moment, anything you see as 'black' in RetroDays is actually just above black - 1,1,1 or thereabouts.)

Maybe you can give the ASCII in this tileset a black (or whatever) outline to make them more visible against a variety of backgrounds?

Good idea, plus I'm going to add all terrain stuff separately, because, I think, only it causes trouble.

OK, I'm prepared to merge the ASCII fallback, but I'd like some commitment to get working outline & transparency on it.

Pouar removed the outlines before I had the chance to look, so I don't know what the story was there, but I do know that the current Huge Black Box of ASCII-Fallback looks ratty by comparison with the rest of the tileset.
